At SoCal Water Babies, we believe that swimming is more than just a sport - it's a survival skill. We strive to create a welcoming and supportive community where young swimmers learn, grow, and have fun.
We are looking for three candidates in the Southern part of Riverside County. Swim instructor trainees are required to spend a minimum of 3 hours a day, Monday - Thursday (at the same time each day), for 6 consecutive weeks in the pool with their senior master instructor In Riverside.

YES, and this is only possible through a generous grant form the Riverside County District 3 Board of Supervisors.
Typically, there is a substantial training fee associated with becoming an instructor. However, in an effort to make survival swimming lessons more accessible to District 3 residents, the office of Supervisor Chuck Washington is subsidizing this training cost to get more trained instructors teaching these lessons in the community to help prevent drowning and reduce injury in his district.
Potential Instructors will train with their Senior Master Instructor between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am Monday - Thursday for 6-weeks starting this Spring 2024. One evening training session will be available between 3:30 and 5:30 PM in late April, 2024. Training must begin before June 30, 2024
Your training will take place at the SoCal Water Babies main pool on Santa Barbara Drive in Riverside.
Once you have been trained, you will be a certified Survival Swimming Instructor. You can choose to work in your own home pool or at any facility of your choosing. SoCal Water Babies will help give you all the tools you need!
You will start by clicking the application button above and sending us your information. You will receive an information call from Cathryn Van Der Linden to go over any questions you have about the program and set up an interview to discuss next steps and requirements after training.
